While he was hankering to know about bhakti yoga, he discovered that two of his juniors in the college were practicing Hare Krishna. They led him to Bhaktiyoga programs at St. Petersburg. After attending the program he was very inspired, especially by the kirtan. Soon he started to chant on beads and sing the mahamantra whole day. Once he had a wonderful dream. Suddenly Srila Prabhupada, hugged him. He gave him "Bhagavad- Gita " & said, "Now read it all very carefully." Thus he received first instructions on the path of sanatan dharma from Srila Prabhupada. Soon his search for a spiritual master led him to His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami. Since he meet his Guru, maharaj has been very enthusiastically preaching Krishna consciousness in Russia. He took sannyasa initiations in 2011.

Bhakti Caitanya Swami was born on August 14th 1951 in Auckland New Zealand. His first contact with Krishna consciousness was while at university in Auckland where on the university grounds he saw devotees throwing flowers at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada while Srila Prabhupada was walking. In 1972 Bhakti Caitanya Swami left New Zealand to make an extensive world tour and met ISKCON devotees in London and later joined Srila Prabhupada's International Society for Krishna Consciousness. After taking initiation from Srila Prabhupada, he became involved in public relations and book publications for the Bhaktivedanta Manor (ISKCON's British Headquarters). In 1980 he went to South Africa to oversee ISKCON's activities as Temple President at Cato Ridge and to help with the overseeing of the construction of the Sri Sri Radha-Radhanatha Temple project.

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami was born in Bengal in 1945, he met with  A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada at the end of 1976.From their very first meeting, Srila Prabhupada gave His Holiness the assignment of translating his books into Bengali and made him his Secretary for Indian Affairs. Within only a few months, Srila Prabhupada gave him initiation into the disciplic succession and soon thereafter, awarded him the order of Sannyasa. Along side his official responsibilities, His Holiness translated all of Srila Prabhupada’s works on major Vedic literatures, consisting of more than fifty volumes of books, into Bengali, as Srila Prabhupada had instructed in their very first meeting. Subsequently, he became a member of the Governing Body Commission of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and served as the Chairman of the Governing Body in 1989.

Bhakti Madhurya Govinda Swami was initiated by His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in October 1968, about two months before HH Jayapataka Swami, awarding him the name “Makhanlal das”. He started one of ISKCON’s first university preaching programs at the University of San Francisco, California, later continuing university preaching at his former university, the University of California, Berkeley. He opened the Berkeley, California temple in 1969. He has been practicing Bhakti Yoga steadily for the past 42 years. He has managed several of the centers in the U.S. For more than five years he served as a legal assistant in the international BB law office. He has taught hundreds of classes on the science of Krishna Consciousness, the ancient Vedic culture, the Bhagavat Purana, Isopanisad, Bhagavad Gita, and other Vedic classics in colleges, universities, and ISKCON centers. He was awarded the Sannyas order by the GBC in February, 2010. He is currently traveling and teaching throughout India and Asia. His international headquarters is located at the ISKCON Krishna Balaram Mandir in Punjabi Bagh, a suburb of New Delhi.

Bhakti Narasimha Swami (formerly Jagat Guru Dasa) was born in 1960. He is the first black South African sannyasi of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.Presently, he is the youngest of all current ISKCON sannyasis, while historically sannyasa in ISKCON was given to men as early as in their 20s. Bhakti Narasimha Swami has been involved with ISKCON for 20 years. During this time, he established a public school and a temple in Uganda. Currently, he is working on temple construction projects in Mozambique, Zambia and other African countries. On April 10, 2008, Prahladananda Swami announced that Bhakti Narasimha Swami had become an ISKCON sannyasi.

His Holiness Bhakti Sundar Goswami was born in Syria. He joined ISKCON in 1974 in Caracas, Venezuela and was initiated personally by Srila Prabhupada in his visit to South America in Feb. 1975. In the 80 he served as temple president in Spain and Venezuela. He has been traveling and preaching for the last 20 years in Latin America, US and Europe. in 2006 he published his book ¨Srila Prabhupada in Venezuela¨ in Spanish and it will be published in English this year if Krishna so desires. At present he serves as an active member of the Latin American RGB as zonal secretary for Central America.

From the very beginning of Maharaja’s spiritual life in ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada chose to show him special attention and favor. Seeing Maharaja’s dual qualifications as a Vaishnava scientist and a Manipuri Vaishnava, Srila Prabhupada personally trained him in “spiritual science” and gave great importance to his scientific work, and also instructed him to strengthen Krishna consciousness in Manipur. He was dear to the devotees for his saintly qualities and his powerful sankirtana, and for his disciples he served as their spiritual father and eternal friend. Srila Prabhupada gave special attention to Sripada Maharaja, even up to his last days in Vrindavana in November of 1977. He would sometimes refer to Sripada Maharaja affectionately as, "Our Dr. Svarupa Damodara" and "our scientist, Svarupa Damaodara", and there were hours of conversations between Prabhupada and Sripada Maharaja.

Bhakti-Tirtha Swami was born John E. Favors in a pious, God-fearing family. As a child evangelist he appeared regularly on television. As a young man he was a leader in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's civil rights movement. At Princeton University he became president of the student council and also served as the chairman of the Third World Coalition. Although his main degree is in psychology, he has received accolades in many other fields, including politics, African studies, and international law.Bhakti-Tirtha Swami directly oversees projects in the United States as a senior member of ISKCON's Governing Body Commision particularly Washington D.C., Potomac, Maryland, Detroit, Pennsylvania, West Virginia), West Africa, South Africa, Croatia and Bosnia. He also serves as the director of the American Federation of Vaisnava Colleges and Schools.A specialist in international relations and conflict resolution, Bhakti-Tirtha Swami constantly travels around the world and has become a spiritual consultant to may high-ranking members of the United Nations, to various celebrities and to Several chiefs, kings and high court justices. HH Bhakti-Tirtha Swami left this world on June 27th, 2005. He was suffering from advanced melanoma cancer.

Bhakti Vaibhava Swami finished his studies and joined the Hare Krishna movement in 1970.The following year he was initiated by Srila Prabhupada. He has been an initiating spiritual master in ISKCON since 1987, and was awarded sannyasa initiation in 1991. When he joined, there was only a fledgling group of devotees in Germany and together they recruited eighty members within four years. His responsibilities in the GBC include his role as zonal secretary for Mongolia, Albania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Macedonia, Poland, and Slovakia. He serves as co-zonal secretary for Eastern and Western Siberia, Latvia, Belarus, Kaliningrad CIS, Ukraine, Far East CIS and Romania. He served on the GBC executive committee from 2006-2008, first as the GBC chairman and then as a committee member. He is very interested to secure the future of the GBC in the next generation and has worked to support the strategic planning effort towards this goal.

He accepted sanyasa initiation in year 2009 from His Holiness Jayapataka Swami.

His Holiness Bhakti Vidya Purna Swami comes from a Jewish American background. He had spent some time in Israel before taking shelter of Srila Prabhupada. He is a person of high integrity who had traveled a long way to find a spiritual framework in which he could live happily. He now prepares courses in religious topics together with philosophy in Mayapur. . He is Principal of Sri Rupanuga Paramarthika Vidyapitha, ISKCON Mayapur. Bhakti Vighna Vinasa Narasimha Maharaja was initiated by Srila Prabhupada in London in 1971. A year later he received second initiation. He has been preaching for over last twenty five years in Asian countries such as India, Philippines, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. Through his years of preaching he has given countless souls practical guidance and deep inspiration. Taking sannyasa in Mayapur in 1994 from Tamal Krishna Goswami did not mean much of a change in his lifestyle, since Maharaja has always been strict in his sadhana. Whoever gets to know Maharaja admires and respects his sincere and faithful practice of chanting the Holy Names of the Lord. He truly "walks his talk". Maharaja has been teaching with the MI since it's inception.

Bhakti Vijnana Goswami is one of the leaders of ISKCON in Russia and is working tirelessly towards establishing a large new temple in Moscow. He was a brilliant graduate student, attending chemistry classes at Moscow State University before he meet devotees in 1977. In spite of heavy opposition from the state he decided to serve full time in the mission of Srila Prabhupada. He tirelessly preaches and gradually has made large number of devotees in Russia and surrounding former states of USSR.

His Holiness Bhakti Visrambha Madhava Swami took his first Initiation from Srila Prabhupada on 9th July, 1974 in San Francisco, by the recommendation of Srila Tamala Krsna Goswami and Vishnjana Swami. Very soon he was blessed with second initiation on 10th July, 1975 in Chicago during Rathayatra period. He was a pujari in St. Louis temple since 1978 to 1982. He took Sannyasa on 4th August, 2001 in Moscow Russia from His Holiness Niranjana Swami and remains under his guidance. He travels around the world serving ISKCON 8 months a year. He spends full Caturmasya period in Krsna Balarama mandir temple and Goshala underneith Tulasirani's protective shade.

Bhaktivedanta Sadhu Swami is a well-known ISKCON preacher from Moscow. He took sanyasa initiation in 2011, which happens to be the 40th anniversary of ISKCON in Russia. He (nee Enver Izmailov) was born in Grozny (Chechnya), July 1, 1967 into the family of Soviet intelligentsia. Later the family moved to Makhachkala. He graduated from high school in Grozny. He was very fond of physics and hoped to bind himself with this science. After high school he entered the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute, but failed because of ill health, and later enrolled at the Novosibirsk State University. Having finished high school, he taught for some time in a school because he already had developed its own pilot program in physics. In 1991, his life changed dramatically. He met some Vaishnavas and was attracted by the knowledge of Krishna, and so devoted himself not to secular but to the spiritual sciences. He had never been interested in religion before, probably because of the common atheistic spirit, which prevailed in Soviet times. He is known for his sturdiness and straightforwardness in matters of Krishna consciousness

Bir Krishna Goswami spent his childhood in Long Island, New York. As an academically gifted student at North Western University, he began reading Srila Prabhupada’s books. Impressed by Srila Prabhupada's scholarship and saintliness Bir Krishna Swami became a member of the Krishna conscious community in Gainesville, Florida in 1971. Shortly thereafter, he was initiated as Srila Prabhupada's disciple. In 1972 he began travelling throughout the United States distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and lecturing at colleges and universities. This continued until 1974, when Bir Krishna Swami became directly involved in the publication of Srila Prabhupada's books in English and in Spanish. In early 1978 Bir Krishna Swami entered the renounced order of life in Lima, Peru. In 1995 he began to work on the GBC (Governing Body Commission). At present his zone includes Fiji, South-eastern United States, and Slovenia.
