His Grace Keshava Das joined ISKCON in March 1989, and was initiated by His Holiness Tamal Krishna Goswami in June of 1990.He served in the Melbourne temple as a sankirtana devotee for eight years,and in 1996 became sankirtana leader and was the top book distributor in Australia during Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial year.In 1997 he married and became temple president of ISKCON Adelaide for 2 1/2 years, which turned out to be a tough assignment due to a lack of manpower and resources.During this time he was able to significantly increase book distribution,Harinam Sankirtan and prasadam distribution in the city of Adelaide.In 1999 he returned to ISKCON Melbourne where he acted as sankirtana leader for another five years,and ran an outreach centre in the downtown area.In 2003 he began to teach sastric degrees in the Melbourne temple for their flourishing congregation, which he continues to do until the present day, making this one of the longest running education programs in ISKCON. In 2007 he moved to Hare Krishna Valley, the rural farm community of the Melbourne ISKCON Temple,where he has been serving as farm manager for the last 15 years.For over 20 years he has organised and facilitated spiritual retreats on a regular basis at Hare Krishna Valley for both members of the public and ISKCON congregational members.
