His Holiness Gunagrahi Das Goswami joined ISKCON in 1969. He received initiation from Srila Prabhupada in 1971. Since then he served as temple president in NY, Buffalo and San Diego, developed successful recruiting and training programs for new devotees, founded Govinda's vegetarian restaurant's, inaugurated the Krishnafest traveling festival and book distribution party, and has preached extensively throughout the world. In recent years he spearheaded the establishment of a successful temple and cultural complex in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1983 Maharaja accepted the order of sannyas and was Zonal Secretary for ISKCON in Argentina and Uruguay.
